THE ARMY COMMENDATION MEDAL
“The ARCOM is awarded to any member of the Armed Forces of the United States who distinguishes himself or herself by heroism, meritorious achievement or meritorious service.

Awards of the ARCOM may be made for acts of valor performed under circumstances described above which are of lesser degree than required for award of the Bronze Star Medal.” (ref AR600-8-22).

I was awarded an ARMY ACHIEVEMENT MEDAL 4 December 2010

FOR EXCEPTIONALLY MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE ASSIGNED AS THE COMPANY OPERATIONS NCO AND THE UNIT INFORMATION MANAGEMENT OFFICER IN SUPPORT OF OEF 10-11. SPECIALIST GADDIS PERFORMED FLAWLESSLY OUTSIDE OF HER MILITARY OCCUPATIONAL SPECIALTY AS THE COMPANY ORDERLY ROOM AND TRAINING NCOIC, SUPPORTING APPROXIMATELY 80 SOLDIERS. THE DISTINCT ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF SPECIALIST GADDIS REFLECT GREAT CREDIT UPON HERSELF, THE 82ND SPECIAL TROOPS BATTALIONS, THE 82ND SUSTAINMENT BRIGADE, AND THE UNITED STATES ARMY.

Youth advocate- I seek opportunities to volunteer at local schools, recreation centers and any other programs influencing middle school aged at-risk children to purse technical careers. I am often called upon to mentor minority at-risk youth through coordination of technology programs. I am a trained youth development professional, since 2006. Receive training through the National Training Institute for Community Youth Work and Alternatives.

I educate youth on the importance of responsible social media networking and the long-term implications of irresponsible social media activities conducted today.

Col. Chris Sharpsten, Command Sgt. Maj. Edward Bell, Spc. Nataliya Ardin and Spc. Shannon Gaddis cut the ribbon leading into the Hall of Heroes Nov. 7 at the 82nd Sustainment Bde.’s Center of Excellence building.

Always sought out to bring projects to a successful completion. With this project, I envisioned, designed and managed the activities of the team to bring the vision of the Brigade Commander (COL Christopher Sharpsten) to reality. While a specialist in the US Army, my duties most always exceed my level of enlistment (i.e. rank). I am consistently tapped to manage complex initiatives and turn around projects. I am a tenacious problem solver known for “making things happen” with strict time constraints; throughout the XVIII Airborne Corps and 82nd Sustainment Brigade. For my work on this project I was awarded an Army Achievement Medal.
